Exercise Deployed Titan
In the words of Group Captain Stuart Atha (Commander of 121 Expeditionary Air Wing) the ethos behind the Deployed Operational Training exercise (DOTex) was that of “training hard to fight easy”.
Exercise Deployed Titan was a series of military exercises including Exercise Skylance and exercise Neptune Warrior which took place across the United Kingdom from 17th to 28th September.

Heldair Maritiem 2007
On 15th september Heldair Maritiem was held at Den Helder Airport and MVK De Kooy. It was the first time the whole Airfield was accessible during an open day and a small air show was held from 13.00h till 16.30h.
To end the Airshow season positive Remco went out to report.

Exercise Indra Dhanush II
From July 2nd - 12th the Indian Air Force (IAF) took part in Exercise Indra Dhanush II. This exercise was a follow-up on the first edition which took place in India, October 2006, when the RAF was at guest with F.3 Tornado's from 43Sqn and an E-3D AWACS and VC-10 Tanker aircraft.

ELITE 2007
For more than 10 years the German Air Force (GAF) promulgated the exercise ELITE (Electronic Warfare Live Training Ecercise) for training elcetronic combat of ground and air-based weapon systems.

Woensdrecht Air Base, The Netherlands
In the south-west of The Netherlands, RNLAF Base Woensdrecht is situated. Nowadays Woensdrecht air base is one of the largest employers in the area with over 2000 employees allocated over both civil and military units.
We visited the 131 EMVO Squadron and the LCKLU at 23th may 2007.

Beauvechain Air Base, Belgium
Some 25 km south-east of Brussels, one of the largest air bases of Belgium is situated: Air Base Lt. Col. Charles Roman, Beauvechain.
Nowadays it hosts the 1 Wing consisting of two flying 'Smaldelen', the 5th, flying with the SIAI SF-260D/M Marchetti and 7th flying with the Fouga CM-170 Magister.

Full Throttle 2007
More than 10,000 fans, guests and media crowded around RNLAF Volkel, to catch a glimpse of the thrilling race between the Spyker Formula One Team F8-VII and an RNLAF F-16.
The event, named 'Full Throttle', saw Dutch driver Christijan Albers race his Formula 1 challenger side by side against Captain Ralph Aarts' F-16 down the base's main runway.

Open Door Meiringen
On Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th, Meiringen Air base in central Switzerland opened the gates for the general public. In contrast to the weather just a week earlier with full sun and nice temperatures every day the weather changed 180 degrees to clouds and snow!

TLP second edition 2007 is online!
With a lot of French participants and Hellenic F-16's participating we went to Florennes to enjoy the first days with full sun.
Dirk Voortmans went on the base and made some fantastic shots during take-off next to the runway and recovery from the tower!

Swiss Hornets Nest Payerne
Payerne is host to the F/A-18C/D Hornet since the type was introduced into service with the Swiss Air Force in 1997 as replacement of the Mirage III(R)S and the Hawker Hunter.
The first unit to re-equip from the Mirage IIIS with the Hornet was Fliegerstaffel (Squadron) 17 from June 1997, followed by Fliegerstaffel 18 in 1998 .

Wiederholungskurs Flst 8 and Flst 11 at Meiringen
From March 12th until March 30th Fliegerstaffel 8 equipped with the venerable F-5E/F Tiger II and Fliegerstaffel 11 flying with the F/A-18C Hornet had their yearly Wiederholungskurs (rehearsal course) from Meiringen airbase in Central Switzerland.

On two cold January days our new member Nico van Remmerden and Michael van der Mee went out to see the first TLP of 2007.
With some luck we managed to get most participants in the sun and see the second pair of Hellenic Mirage 2000's arrive!

Belgian F-16 OCU goes to Beja
From the 4th until the 15th of December the Belgian OCU squadron was guest at BA11 Beja AB in Portugal for the training of 7 new pilots that joined the squadron earlier this year.
BA11, Beja AB, was chosen for the good weather conditions during this time of the year.

Altantic for the Military Aviation Museum
On January 15th the Military Aviation Museum took delivery of an German Navy Atlantic from Marine Flieger Geschwader 3 based at Nordholz. The 61+20 together with sister plane the 61+12 that functioned as a crew ferry arrived at the last resting place of the Atlantic; Soesterberg Air Base.
The German Navy cease operations with the Atlantic in 2007..
