Beauvechain Air Base
Some 25km south-east of Brussels, one of the largest air bases in Belgium is situated: Air Base Lt.Col.Charles Roman, Beauvechain.
Beauvechain has a large history and many types served at this air base for the Belgium Defence - Air Component, like the Spitfire, Hunter, T-33, F-104G and F-16A/B. Almost all these types are stored in a small museum on base.
More than 10.000 fans, guest and media crowded around the Royal Netherlands Air Force Base Volkel in the south of Holland, to catch a glimpse of the thrilling race between the Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One Team F8-VII and an RNLAF F-16.
The second TLP of this year had some nice participants in the form of Mirage F1s in both the CT and CR versions and a not often seen Spanish Falcon 20ECM. The Hellenic F-16s formed a welcome bonus. Nice weather and eastern winds resulted in the following photo report.

Swiss Hornets Nest Payerne
Payerne is host to the F/A-18C/D hornet since the type was introduced into service with the Swiss Air Force in 1997 as replacement of the Mirage III(R)S and the Hawker Hunter.
The first unit to re-equip from the Mirage IIIS with the Hornet was Fliegerstaffel (Squadron) 17 from June 1997,followedby Fliegerstaffel 18 in 1998 that transitioned from the venerable Hunter.
On two cold january days our new member Nico van Remmerden and Michael van der Mee went out to see the first TLP of 2007.
With some luck we managed to get most participants in the sun and see the second pair of Hellenic Mirage 2000`s arrive!
