Exercise Indra Dhanush 2015
By Ashley Wallace
On July 17th four Indian Air Force SU-30MKI Flankers from No 2 Squadron 'Winged Arrows' based at Tezpur AB in India arrived at RAF Coningsby to take part in Exercise Indra Dhanush 2015. They were supported by a C-17A from 81 Squadron based at Hinden AB, New Delhi. A C-130J-30 from 77 Squadron and a IL-78MKI Tanker from 78 Squadron. The IL-78MKI and C-130J-30 were actually taking part in the exercise and were based at RAF Brize Norton for the duration. The SU-30MKIs operated up against Typhoon FGR4s from No 3(F) Squadron on 1v1, 2v1 and 2v2 engagements. It was great to see these amazing aircraft back in the UK and the images below are from when they departed RAF Coningsby after the Exercise had finished for their long journey home back to India.
