Axalp Fliegerschiessen 2015
Seven years after Touchdown Aviation's first visit to Axalp Fliegerschiessen, it was time to go back to the annual live fire demonstration of the Swiss Air Force. The event heavily depends on weather circumstances; two years ago the author had climbed to the top only to hear the event was cancelled both days. This year the event was planned for October 7th & 8th.
Flying with the 100th ARW
It's 5am on a dreary Monday morning more likening to a day in November rather than early July. I was asked to meet at the main gate at RAF Mildenhall home of the 100th Air Refuelling Wing which fly the Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker, on arriving at to the operations building of the 100th ARW, 351st ARS you are greeted with a large sign displaying the initials NKAWTG-Nobody Kicks Ass Without Tanker Gas.
352nd Special Operations Wing
The 352nd Special Operations Wing based at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk is an essential part of the United States Air Force Special Operations Command and over the past 3 years has evolved massively. Having stood up in March of this year, the 352nd Special Operations Wing (SOW) is the newest wing within AFSOC which consists of six squadrons. Ashley Wallace flies with the squadrons to report on what the latest platforms bring to the 352nd SOW.
