Frisian Flag 2013
Frisian Flag 2013 was held from April 15th - 26th at Leeuwarden Air Base and the nearby Dutch, German and Danish airspace over the North Sea. This years focus was on international cooperation and integration. Touchdown Aviation got the opportunity to see this multi national cooperation at Leeuwarden Air Base but also in the air during an E-3A AWACS mission and KDC-10 air to air tanker mission.

RAF Northolt Night Photoshoot XIV
RAF Northolt opened its gates again on the evening of 14th March 2013 for the 14th Charity Night Shoot. Now in its fourth year these events are aimed at raising funds for the restoration of the 11 Group Operations Room at RAF Northolt. This historic building played a significant role during the Battle of Britain. With over two hundred photographers attending, it was the most successful event held so far & will help greatly with the funding for the buildings.

Flying with the 'Bloody Hundredth'
On the 28th February 2013 Touchdown Aviation were given the great privilege to join the crew onboard "QUID 42" for an air-to-air refuelling sortie over the East coast of the UK. The KC-135 Stratotanker is a real workhorse of the US Air Force and is no stranger in the skies above Europe. RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk based in the UK is home to the 100th Air Refuelling Wing / 351st Air Refuelling Squadron.
